Kudos to the Dev Team
The new dev team inherited a lot of tech debt and was put in the position of repairing the airplane in flight. Your efforts are being noticed. Some longstanding bugs are gone, including one that drove me crazy -- the inability to click on the thumbnail in the comments feed, to clearly see the post that the comment applied to. Uploads are faster, too, and stability seems good. Just wanted to say, Thanks!

Each time I visit bdsmlr I encounter trouble so I wouldn't endorse this euphoric assessment. What about the 500 | Error Page you get a lot of if you want to see someone's archive (because if you look at their page in the side blog you never get to see more than four items)? What about having your tabs hijacked by those perverse tab stealing ads? What about out of the blue being unable to call up any page, getting another variant of the 500 | Error page instead, this time with the site dying, and you need to actually delete bdsmlr cookies before you even get to see a log in screen again? Try to change your avatar - can't be done. Have your header displayed? Forget it. But hey - you can sign up for a "Premium" version of bdsmlr!
Yes, things have improved in terms of overall stability; even chat is working most of the time. But with all those small and not so small problems continuing, it may be too early for hyperbole and cries of "kudos!" And before anyone touts the standard "It's a free site take it or leave it" line - bdsmlr is crammed with dramatically intrusive ads off of which money is made. May not be enough cash, as they recently explained in one of their extremely rare on-site announcements (which never seem to address actual problems). But I think it would be wise to guarantee standard functions being up and running 24/7 before they ask people to buy crypto currency to pay for premium membership.

Uhuh, what am I reading?
Ravenflight, They are just greedy here. Those pops do make good money and this is yet another attempt to get your hard earned cash into their accounts after they have thanked you for your loyalty of using their platform by running pops that are spreading malware and nasty viruses around for the past year.
I wholeheartedly disagree with pretty much about everything in OP's post. Compared to days when someone who actually cared was in charge the difference is astonishing. Half of the features that were in functional order back then do not work, they have not worked for few years and pleads about them getting fixed go ignored. All their social media accounts / information channels have had full radio silence for months. The way this site has been run these past few years or so is actually such a ridiculous fuck up, that I would not believe it if I would not have been witnessing it all with my own eyes. Kudos? GTFO
I don't know how many "dev teams" there has been, but the original one which made this place shine was the one who deserves all the KUDOS, others have systematically destroyed everything they built and step by step plus they have somehow managed to burn all that goodwill gained back then (no small amount) and here we are.
Luckily there are few alts and I've been using one of those. It's fun to take a peek into this mess every now and then though so here I am.

TheFakIsUp - I wasn't going to be so openly damning in my remarks, but actually, I agree with you - in particular that the new devs, shrouded in eternal silence, "have somehow managed to burn all that goodwill gained back then". Looking back, for the longest time I was a supporter, recommending patience and pledging support. Finally, though, I felt we were all being let down by a bunch of people who either don't know what they are doing, or don't give a fuck as long as the ads keep functioning.
Okay, things have stabilized in the sense that the site is online more or less 24/7 with basic functions like posting etc working, yet other things continue to be a mess. And a social platform like this is about so much more than being available, and in all those additional aspects, users have been shamefully let down by a bunch of people who seem more interested in revenue than purpose. Yes, what's been going on has been closer to "a ridiculous fuck up" than to what the original team managed "which made this place shine".
What should, and can, be done even with small resources, is admirably demonstrated by that original team who are now running a fledgling rival site. The way they keep improving things, and specially the way they communicate and respond to requests and queries, is remarkable, and makes the people who have turned bdsmlr into such a disappointment look like uncaring, greedy cynics. Given bdsmlr's potential, that's sad.
