Blog posts scrambled

Worked it out - for some reason it was only showing reblogs and those of my own content posted chronologically earlier than the pinned post at the top of my blog. Anything I had published between posting the pinned blog and today just disappeared.

Hoping that goes into the fix pile as I really do like having a pinned post as a kind of welcome mat for readers 😁. Understand that it probably isn’t going to be high priority at the moment though!

The out-of-sequence issue you described has been going on for over a year for me now, so definitely an inherited problem.

I've narrowed it down to scrolling down before the first batch of posts are loaded. I use the responsive theme, so its a lot easier to hit the bottom of the feed quickly than if you're using the default theme (3-column should suffer from this as well, but I haven't tried). It seems that if the first batch isn't loaded before the request of the next batch, your next batch starts from the date of the pinned post. Like I said, this has been happening for over a year, but the most recent update may have screwed up the loading of the first batch, which would make the problem very obvious. (It may also be fixed now by this time.)

If I refresh and keep my hands off the keyboard/mouse, and let it actually load, it loads fine. (But again, with the current maintenance, if that first batch fails, it would probably immediately jump to starting from the pinned post.

Hey Jennie, thanks! That makes sense.

My other half was doing a few mega downloads last night so it might actually have been him using up all the bandwidth (fibre hasn’t reached us yokels yet!). It’s possible that it was enough to stop the batches from loading and therefore making it look on my mobile, like half my posts had disappeared…my successful ones at that 😁.

Thanks for clearing that up for me!
