Removing original captions when reblogging

I apologize for responding in a way that doesn't really answer your question, but I was struck by this question because I'd very stongly prefer that our posts be reblogged intact with the words we wrote, but often they aren't, so there's evidently a way to remove them (I don't know how) but no way to prevent them being removed...

Hi RugRollers there is a way which I have been informed on a previous forum. Hit the REBLOG button. The window opens which allows you to add your own comment. Click on the red PLUS sign underneath the image (the final image if there's more than one in the post); that will remove all captions. Then, proceed as you always do to reblog immediately, or send the post to your queue..
As a rule I have always reblogged with previous captions, comments etc intact as I know alot of my followers prefer that. I have over 10,000 followers and this particular one who I also follow myself has asked for his captions to removed if I reblog anything from his page to my page feed which is a first. Out of respect I am accommodating them though like I said as a rule I dont usually remove when I reblog.
