    Confirmed: https://jenniestestblog3.bdsmlr.com/post/372840244

But videos posted during the outage still do not appear to work (from 26 March): https://jennie.bdsmlr.com/post/349195235

Yeah new videos are working but every video in my archive still won't play. Many of them were posted well before the start of this outage.

Great that videos are back 😊. I noticed a vid someone uploaded today played, uploaded a few myself & they all worked-yay:-). I then checked some older videos on my blog... which still don’t play :(.

During the video blackout - which began with the Feb 2-ish platform crash- I discovered that older videos uploaded a year or more prior (before Feb 2020) still played & everything newer didn’t play. And unfortunately they still don’t, at least as of last night.

I’m happy we can upload videos again and have them play. I’ll eventually reupload replacements for the 2020 videos if needed. I hope this unofficial timeframe for archived video playback is helpful.

Anybody know if they are going to fix the older videos?

I asked them on twitter if they were going to fix them, they said yes, but I haven't noticed any improvement in that, if they don't come back it's hard to trust the platform again....

I found an odd workaround for the video issue. If you choose to "open in new tab" and then remove the cdn## from the front of the link, it works. For Jennie's test video:

    https://bdsmlr.com/uploads/videos/2021/03/239940/bdsmlr-239940-lsPZz3VAEP.mp4

This direct link shows up for me.

My hunch is the CDN service for this site is not set up well, so the video content is available but the embed links are wrong. Another, but an image:

    https://cdno05.bdsmlr.com/uploads/photos/2019/02/17935/bdsmlr-17935-rxhUSva3zq.gif

Remove the errant "o" and it works just fine. It should be cdn05.

Thanks for the workaround. I’m not technical but recovering things damaged in the outage has taught me a little bit- mainly the various cdn manipulation ways to get a sketchy gif/gifset to appear. Sometimes you add a zero- whatever’s there, do the opposite :-) Also how to trim and reupload frozen gifs. Usually trimming the last frame fixes a gif.

It seems like there was a lot of disruption in the site’s cdns so it’s good that some videos may be able to be played back this way & reuploaded if desired.

I certainly understand some users not wanting to (re)do videos & other recovery stuff. I’m partially in salvage mode & don’t mind, will do what makes sense.

Tried to remove the cdn##  from my own videos but it didn't work, but thanks for trying.
