Chat problem

It's been like that for weeks and weeks. Most of the time, there isn't even a NEW MESSAGE notification thing on the message icon. So you have to check whether someone might have sent a message. That's pretty unnerving even if you don't habitually talk to more than one or two people.

Is anything being done to fix this? Who knows? After a flurry of phrases about how everyone was working hard to get problems sorted and so on, there's been nothing of substance. On the plus side, desktop works more or less, minus some persistent flaws, even most videos seem to be displaying again. So obviously, there's work being done behind the scenes. Which of course doesn't help if you want to use the app.

It would just be great if there were regular details and/or explanations from the team.

Thanks, ravenflight.  Yea, I know this has been going on for weeks.  I was hoping there would have been something here addressing the problem.  I just checked Twitter, and there's nothing there re chat, either.  Guess they will "get to it".  I agree, regular details and/or explanations from the team, here, would be great.  If they can post things on Twitter, why not here?  Do they not know about copy/paste?

No, on twitter you'll probably not find anything beyond phrases, Michael. Used to be that they reported several times a week on even the most trivial site improvement. But now, site development (I may be being unfair here, blame it on a persistent lack of information) seems to be stagnating at best. And I guess people just don't like to report on stagnation...

Still, would be nice if they could overcome that blockage and make - what's the phrase - a clean breast of it :-)

I think the phrase is "a clean break of it", but I knew what you meant.  Maybe it's because of "Covid"  It seems that everything is blamed on that.  I refuse to wear a "face diaper", so there's a lot of places I don't go.  Which is off topic, but then, I'm often off topic.  Anyway, as far as chat goes, I'll just bear with it.  Nice chatting a bit with you ravenflight.  Perhaps I'll run across your blog, sometime.  I'd give you mine, (I have 3), but I don't want to list them here.  Have a great day!

I checked it, and - in the sense of telling the truth -  it is indeed "clean breast", which I like because we're talking about a porn site, at least what's currently available of it :-)

Yeah, corona gets the blame for nearly everything, but still, there ought to be enough time once a week to update on progress (or otherwise). Oh, as for the "face diaper" - I hate them, but they do offer a degree of protection I guess. Not going to a lot of places does that too of course. Either way, at the rate this thing is going, with these new variants developing all the time it seems, we might be reflecting years from now about the good old days when people used to be able to just get together like there was no danger in that ...

Thanks for the clarification, ravenflight.  My momma always said "clean break", but then, she was a bit of a prude.

Yeah, good ole corona.  The current bane of our existence.  As far as chat, I was on last night and it was working rather well.  I agree that an update on the progress at least once a week would be nice.

As far as the state of the country and the world.....We keep waiting for that "knight in shining armor" to rescue us.  We, the people, have the power, should we wake up and realize it.
