No, it's not just you. Two raceplay blogs I know of, one which I followed, have been banned and I'm confident that neither broke rules. Haters gonna hate.

One of my blogs got banned, no warning and I've no idea why.

The most recent post on it was innocuous:  I'd captioned a pic of two naked girls in the back of a car.  "giving your daughter and her friend a lift back from the party, they are so drunk, I'll look after them and bring them home in the morning"  and the  blog just got deleted. I mean - why?   Drunkenness implies lack of consent?   I have no idea.

I asked them and no response.

It's pretty insane that they are bannign blogs and the site is still not working. Trying to edit a blog still throws errors, and the visits are way down. Plus the BDSMLR team seem totally absent recently.

It's like a death blow for the site. bad functionally and trigger happy on the bans.

I've got banned too. And I had done nothing but reported here about error 500 on the "edit blog" page. There is an article about bannning on the FAQ page. It says:

"It is also possible you spammed fake reports and therefor your account was banned. Contact us if so"

Who do I need to contact? No one replied yet: nor here, nor on Twitter. I can buy a premium subscription for unbanning, but it seems like there is no communication possible even for that.

I got banned and don't even create content or have many followers (seriously... Maybe 15 followers?)

The community is fairly sure that bdsmlr has been up for sale for a while and it's possible that the bans are an attempt to make the sale more paletable.  But buyers of the site need to be pretty open minded given the sites name.  Another possibility here is that this is all about server hosting and in order to get it hosted on something more stable they need to more aggressively moderate content or be seen to be doing so.

Well, they just unbanned my blog so something is happening.

I checked the reinstated to see if there were any posts removed or flagged as rule-breaking ... but there were none gone. So I'm not sure why it got banned, as I thought - there was no rule infringement. Perhaps they got a new team member in the server chaos who was pressing the wrong button, or a Bot gone crazy banning random blogs, or some other weird random reason

I can't imagine this site is up for sale, it's still quite broken, and bans only serve to drive more people away. I think the site is going to take at least 6 months to recover visitor numbers as it is.

Looks like raceplaycuriousblackgirl just got banned.

A more innocuous raceplay-themed blog you cannot imagine.

I brief update on why my blog got banned.  It might help people understand what's happening.  Support replied to my ticket  with

"Although incest type of roleplay (father-daughter) may not be on our terms, still it is an obscene matter that is unacceptable to be posted on our site. "

I responded with a (far too long) mail explaining my opinion that father daughter role play is well established, and not in itself obscene. It was the cornerstone of Game of Thrones, and in fiction or adult consensual play it's fine for a woman to say "Daddy" or a man to say "daughter".  And in law there's nothing in either EU or US law about fictional depictions of adults pretending to be father and daughter.   Law protects depictions of real incest (which is illegal) and of child abuse, but the Law does not rule on a photo of two adults with a caption saying "Daddy and Daughter"

    They responded with this

Unfortunately, we had different rules and regulations and we stand for what we think is morally right.
One other thing, you might think that the girls you posted are of legal age but still, most of them are borderline minors.

Just to be clear, the women came from other sites and may look young, but these are simply photos from large sets - and I pick the ones where they look youthful, In others from the same set the same models look 35!   It's all illusion and filters.

Anyway, I thought that might help people wondering why certain sites are getting banned. BDSMLR are making moral choices about what they feel is wrong or right. That's there prerogative of course, it's their site and provided free of charge, but I feel it's a bit too editorial for me. I'm not keen on that direction.

So... this means that there are still some Admins for the site... so... can we maybe get some information on all the other issues we have ongoing?

I'm fucking gone. All 5 of my blogs under 4 different e-mails got banned.

I signed up again just to post this. Here's an excerpt from the Admin post from June 12&13, 2019, still visible on the front page of the site if you expand the admin posts:

Update We have been getting a few messages what do we mean by captions / comments so to clarify:

For example DD / LG etc is completely fine with all the terms involved and so all are the similar fetishes. What we do not accept are the captions about pedophilia in any form. That means clearly mentioning minors in sexual acts / getting raped (there has been a huge surge lately).

So... if I have this right, they suddenly decided, without warning, and without any indications or changes to their TOS, that DD / LG is a bannable offense, and then decided to blanket-ban entire blogs instead of just the offending posts.

Yeah, this site is garbage now. Bye. Glad I made backups before this happened.

I was banned without warning too. Figure it's a Mommy thing in my case, judging from the above posts.  All my picture posts contained adults, but yeah I do like it when Ladies infantilize submissive males, specially if the dude is older than Her. Ladies in their twenties demanding to be called Mommy, don't see the harm. Either way, very different from fucking pedophilia.

Also, possible I got reported out of spite because I commented sarcastically on a blog reposting my captions without credit and instead of reblogging.

First ban for me, not going to try to find out why or make a new blog, fuck m.

Personally I fetishize feminism and social justice but read on some blogs I follow that they were told anti-feminist post were no longer allowed. Now I read here they're also banning raceplay and borderline vanilla stuff like Daddy roleplay. Sure, you can take it far, but in and of itself it's pretty mainstream.

Fuck those idiotic prudes. 665 posts in my queue, one in twenty with an extensive backstory in the description. A warning would have been nice.

    It's not just you.

I've been watching them steadily grind down and destroy the self-esteem of a friend of mine since December, now. Really, since as far back as August or September when I first spoke to her via this site(so happy to make a friend on here) and they banned one of her pages only a few days after we began chatting.

All total, she has had to create around 5 new blogs between that time and now, the 2 largest of which had follower counts in the multiple thousands. Easily over 6000 followers between all the blogs added up. The new blogs will get up to a few hundred before being banned again. Her injection and abduction/DDlg fetish blogs are just that: HER FETISHES. I understand how that may make some people squeamish, but the same could be said even about more vanilla things like spanking or nipple clamps or pee. To each their own. Obviously the content resonates with thousands of people and is not illegal. This site is about FANTASY.

There is never any notice or response given, just -poof- gone. On top of that, she is unable to get back into her sub-blogs since the main accounts get banned, essentially stranding those pages in purgatory(excellent site functionality!). It's hard watching someone you care about lose all motivation to create. And I have seen this happen unjustly to many others over my time here.

It's shocking to hear that info about raceplaycuriousblackgirl. The admins seem especially hard on raceplayers(but seemingly only one type of raceplay theme? I wonder if that has to do with the fact that people who disagree with that theme are more likely to abuse the report feature?) and it is eye opening and astounding to learn they are moralizing and arbitrarily banning things as simple and well established as DD/lg or anti-feminism, rather than limiting bans to illegal content or harassment as their ToS would lead us to believe. I did see someone I follow corroborate the story about anti-feminist content supposedly being verboten in the increasingly puritanical eyes of the site staff.

bdsmlr staff, you have forgotten a basic rule not just of kink, but of freedom of expression: DO NOT allow your personal tastes and beliefs to affect how you approach and treat others with different tastes and views. Not if the goal is to foster an open and free environment. It poisons the well of creativity and that is what is happening to this site. It is saddening.

There is definitely a misbehaving ban bot. One of my secondary was banned. I was able to create a new secondary blog (zero posted content, so no TOS violations), and repeat the steps that caused the ban. It too was immediately banned.

I opened a ticket to get my side blog back, and provided very specific instructions on how to make it happen, so maybe hopefully they'll look into fixing the ban bot.

    I'll post an update if/when I get a response.

It is important to remember that BDSMLR is most likel ya small, independent site, run by one or two people, probably in their spare time.  Our ad traffic is probably not even enough to keep the operating costs covered, let alone allow someone to earn a living, so repairs are likely being done during evenings and weekends. With such limited time and resources, putting the effort into the repairs rather than drafting and posting updates is (and should be) the priority.

BDSMLR is not ban happy, but they are trying to keep the site going among some difficult legal requirements. Every ban I've come across has been the result of content in violation of the terms.  Just because it's your fetish doesnt mean it fits within the legal constraints of a non-credit card age enforced website in the jurisdictions where the site is hosted. In order to keep the site running for ALL, some content which puts the site at legal risk has to be banned. Be responsible, be patient, and understand that hosting an explicit content site in an international environment is not as easy as you may think.

Today my blog was re-banned , after it had been un-banned on Feb 23rd. When it was unbanned they sent the message:

    Feb 23, 2021, 23:44 GMT+2

    Greetings,
We would like to let you know that we lifted the ban and all the posts are restored now.
Please be advised to follow the website's rules and regulations to avoid such issues in the future.
    https://bdsmlr.com/terms
    Thank you and enjoy.
P.S. Please refrain from using the "rape" word.
Today, it was banned again, I've barely used it since they unbanned it. Nothing was added. A couple of reposts
and I looked at the support ticket and the above message from Support had been deleted.
It's obvious that they have new team members with very specific moral ideas.
They edited to the older text from them to read

    Greetings,

Although incest type of roleplay (father-daughter) may not be on our terms, still it is an obscene matter that is unacceptable to be posted on our site.

I'd mentioned that consensual adult roleplay is neither against their rules, and nor is it illegal anywhere.  Game of Thrones was on a major network

It seems BDSMLR staff are now moral policing.  No mention of "Daddy/Daughter"  no use of the word "Rape" no implications of racial kinks.  What next  "No naked female forms" ?

    This all seems very familiar.

Yeah. Sorry, not sorry. Moral outrage over the term rape, in a fetish context, is so arbitrary. The term slave, the concept of slavery is just as offensive, if not more, if you want to look at it that way. Everything depends on consent.

Even their chosen logo, the handcuffs, can imply all kinds of horrible, malicious motives on their part, if you want to be a Karen about it. Situation isn't workable for me, so not gonna appeal, nor make a new profile, unless they initiate a mayor course correction from this arbitrary censorship.

From what I observe, the banning of several blogs, including my own, the main issue doesn't seem to be a specific kind of fetish but that models with less than D cup breasts and without clearly visible cellulite are considered to be potentially underage.

This is a touchy subject, as child abuse and sexual exploitation of minors are severe problems in the real world. However, fortunately I have not seen clearly illegal images or videos on this site, nor do I want to see that kind of stuff on this site or another. I can't say whether such material exists on bdsmlr, but if so, it must be in some closed circles.

The site's owners possibly face a number of legal questions, and they try to stay on the safe side. Closing dozens or hundreds of blogs with perfectly legal content is the collateral damage of trying to avoid the site's closure or even criminal prosecution of their owners.

As to myself, I can only say: If they don't find a more reasonable way of dealing with possibly questionable content than banning entire blogs with probably no illegal images, I shall stay away.
