Arranging Images in Drafts

Others may have different experiences but I’ve always been only able upload 9 images in a specific order. A 10th image often gets placed in the #2 position after uploading, so I usually keep it to 9 or less and (for best results on first attempt) upload each image into the set individually.

If I really want a 10 image sequence, I’ll put the desired #2 image in the last upload slot and it will usually show in the #2 slot- with the 9th image dropped down to 10th. Usually. This is as far as I’ve gotten/experimented with.

i believe Bdsmlr did an upgrade to the uploading process last year, and it did improve image order consistency. If you load 9 images individually, they’ll come out in the right order. But-in my experience- 9 is the limit.

95% of what I do is under 9 images, so it’s no big deal for me. Again, others may have different experiences or techniques/tips. Hth

    Billy, are your image sets usually named 1.jpg 2.jpg ... 9.jpg 10.jpg?
It may be doing an ascii sort 1.jpg 10.jpg 2.jpg...
Just a thought; I haven't paid that much attention. (Or it may be doing a similar rename/sort on the backend).

Some of them are named/numbered. When I pull a set from the tumblr export stored on a local hard drive they are numbered at the end of the file name. When I create a set from ‘found gifs’ (from around the internet) they are often not numbered, but usually load fine if I do them individually and don’t exceed 9 images.

Back in my early days here I tried manually numbering gifs- 1. , 2. , 3. Etc ...to load longer sets in order - more than 9 images. I was never successful unfortunately, after many (many) tries. Again, Bdsmlr made improvements since the early days and other users may have different experiences. These days I just assume 9 is the limit for ‘images in set order’ and don’t fight it 😊

I did come up with the  trick mentioned above- of loading the #2 image last...to achieve a 10 image set. It usually works. Hth
