Difference between Comment and Caption

Can someone explain to me how i can add a caption to the picture when reblogging? Because what I write seems to be just a comment. If I have to submit the picture on my own to have captions, how can I retain the captions of others with their blog names? I have seen some pictures with multiple captions by multiple blogs...

  Captions of the others should be retained when you reblog and do not deleted them (the X in the right side of the caption field while writing your own).

  Difference: Captions are shown in the reblogs, comments are added while viewing notes and do not show up in the reblogs.

  Okay I think I got it. But when I add a caption during reblogging, it will only show as comment on the original post right?

  It will only show up while viewing notes from the original post, yes. It will also show up as a caption for those who reblog it from you.
