New Blog Features & Settings - Private By Default
I recently had to travel for business and while away I was swamped with work. I was either busy working or resting for the next day, so I was unable to check my blog for several days. Before my return, the fairly new BLOG SETTINGS were rolled out and went live. Each of the settings begins with these words, ‘DON’T SHOW MY ... ‘. Unfortunately for me, this went into effect with EVERY box unchecked! This means Every
Liked Post, Every Blog I Follow, All My Top Posts And (Worst Of All) Every One Of My Followers was on display for all to see. When this occurred I couldn't help thinking, what’s next, should I worry about my home email address being displayed?
There are a wide variety of reasons why people might choose to keep themselves and their information private.
Can we agree on a way to respect and not violate people’s privacy in the future? I’d appreciate something like this not happening again.

I POSTED THIS 3 MONTHS AGO AND HAVE NO IDEA IF ANY MEMBER OF THE BDSMLR STAFF READ IT. IF I RAN MY BUSINESS THE WAY THIS SITE IS ADMINISTERED, I WOULD'VE LOST IT DECADES AGO.

Hi Jim!
General discussion part of these forums is mainly meant for discussion between the users. We read it all, sure. But we do not necessarily comment. It's the feature requests side where we people can request new feature / changes.
Now about the point you're making. It's valid, we discuss it on our side and will make a decision about it in the coming days.
